Bed Wettin’ Bad Boys - Ready for Boredom LP

I got it hand it to these guys. They came up with a name that at no point in my life will I ever be in a scenario where I need to try and remember it, regardless of how good or how badly forgettable the music was. That will never happen. Coming off two singles that showed the band getting progressively better, it’s no real surprise to find that Bed Wettin’ Bad Boys have put out a pretty fantastic album. Based out of Australia  the “boys” take cues from mid era Replacements and some of the loose fully turned up rockers that Pollard and co. would happen upon from time to time. Ready for Boredom is almost an all too appropriate title, that it almost makes me wish they weren’t so entirely self-aware. But whatever, this shit rocks and it’s an album that begs to be turned up despite if by doing so more and more of the recorded imperfections might reveal themselves. But it’s the rare instance where the slacker ethos works entirely to their advantage and the recklessness of which these guys bust these tunes out is just too enjoyable to ignore. While I’m a fan of the album now, I’m looking forward to when spring rolls around and things begin to finally warm up a bit so I can roll the windows down, let this thing go, and be completely worry free for a short time.
